more than the stars over your head

and flowers in her hair

her hair is long enough to braid. even longer now. this was in the fall. she was practicing how to hold a new baby. and now she holds that new baby every day.

always be very very careful...

love,
me

ps. listen

a pile of cash

she saved my life from under a collapsed bunk bed, made me move to virginia for the best time of my life, planned my wedding before anyone knew we were engaged, and endured years of random dance parties, singalongs, and road trips. and now she's all grown up, married, raising a puppy, and growing a baby.

we like to pretend we're all grown up, anyways...

and cash is no longer a puppy. he is a full grown muppet, frisbee extraordinaire, and will do anything to get a good chase out of you.

hard to take a picture of a puppy who is always moving, but he sure looks good with these two.

love,
me

ps. remember this?

tooth ache

birthday boy. favourite restaurant. all dressed up. slicked down hair.

and it wasn't till we got home that he told us his tooth was aching.

the night ended with a tearful emergency tooth pull at the dentist.

and he still told us that it was the best night ever.

good kid.

auntie holly and uncle ty.

if birds can glide for long periods of time, then…why can’t i? - orville wright

tyler has recently been restoring and flying old remote control planes. at first, i must admit, i did not understand why someone would spend so much time building a toy to fly it, and then crash it, just to rebuild it again... (i still don't really understand...).

but when you see it sitting so unassuming on the grass, and then watch it lift effortlessly in the air, do loops in the sky, and, finally, plummet dangerously to the earth (more times crashing than you would think...), it really is quite a show.

we visited tyler's cousins in rocky mountain house and tyler put on such a show. and after a few successful flights and landings, and a finale with broken wings, we were all impressed.

time to rebuild.

r&y

i'd rob a kwik-e-mart for you

what happens when your best friend has a baby? we cry. and refuse to acknowledge that it has been years since we have pulled down our backstreet boys and jonathan taylor thomas magazine clippings off our walls. or that it has been that long since we talked on ICU. or msn. or since we've screamed this or this or this or this or this in the little green car while spinning circles on black ice on crowchild. or that our dreams of being rock stars might have to be put on hold for a while. or that we live on opposite sides of the country. or that we might actually be growing up.

she does make cute babies, though.

we're going to the zoo. how about you?

we went to the zoo. i. love. the. zoo. it is hard not to giggle at a farting hippopotamus, or wrinkle your nose in the large mammal house, or shout for everyone to look at a gorilla picking his nose, or jump at a tiger roar. i love the giraffe's tongue, the rhino's horn, and the penguins jumping straight out of the water and onto their feet.

and why do the peacocks get to roam free?
